Set up the connection

  1. Sync the completed activity from the Garmin device to Garmin Connect.
  2. In Garmin Connect, enable Apple Health and allow workout and heart-rate sharing.
  3. In Apple Health, allow Zone Training Log to read workouts and heart rate.

What to expect

Limited. The workout can arrive, but Zone Training Log may not receive enough detailed heart-rate samples to calculate accurate zone time.

Important limitations

  • Garmin documents high and low heart-rate values for activities rather than a complete activity heart-rate stream.
  • Garmin documents that GPS routes are not written to Apple Health.

Verify the data before opening Zone Training Log

  1. Open Apple Health → Browse → Activity → Workouts and inspect the Garmin Connect source.
  2. Check Heart → Heart Rate at the workout time; summary values alone are not enough for detailed zones.

Troubleshooting

  • Open Garmin Connect and wait for the device sync before opening Zone Training Log.
  • If the workout appears without zones, this can be an upstream export limitation rather than a Zone Training Log permission problem.
