Data path

Apple Watch
Apple Health
Zone Training Log

Set up the connection

  1. Pair Apple Watch with this iPhone and record a workout with the Workout app or another Health-compatible app.
  2. Open Zone Training Log and allow workout and heart-rate read access when asked.
  3. Keep Apple Health enabled as the shared store; no Apple Watch account connection is needed in Zone Training Log.

What to expect

This is the recommended iPhone route. Apple’s Workout app normally provides the workout and detailed heart-rate samples needed for zone analysis.

Important limitations

  • A workout needs usable heart-rate samples for Zone Training Log to calculate time in zones.
  • Third-party watch apps can write a different set of fields than Apple’s Workout app.

Verify the data before opening Zone Training Log

  1. Open Health → Browse → Activity → Workouts and confirm the workout appears.
  2. Open Health → Browse → Heart → Heart Rate and check that readings exist during the workout.

Troubleshooting

  • If the workout is missing, confirm the recording app may write Workouts to Health.
  • If the workout has no zones, check that Zone Training Log may read Heart Rate and that the workout contains readings.
